For Marvel Comics, an era is coming to an end.

 In the new year, one of Marvel's most important eras will come to an end. Beginning in December, the publisher revealed a massive new crossover event that will conclude the Ultimate Universe. 

The final issues of all five Ultimate titles, which were announced at this year's New York Comic Con's Marvel's Next Big Thing Panel, will be published in the coming months. In December, Ultimate Spider-Man #24 and Ultimate Black Panther #24 will be available for purchase. The next issue of Ultimate X-Men will come to an end in February, followed by Ultimate Wolverine #16 and Ultimate Wolverine #24. The Ultimate Invasion by Jonathan Hickman and Bryan Hitch marked the beginning of the new Ultimate Universe in 2023. 

Marvel reveals specifics regarding the ultimate universe's demise. 

The Maker, a dark version of Reed Richards from The Fantastic Four, created the Ultimate Universe as a world without heroes. Spider-Man and the Ultimates have accepted their destiny since the beginning of the universe, but their stories are very different from those of Marvel fans. 

Deniz Camp, the author of Ultimates, stated, "It's hard to talk about without getting emotional." "It is actually the culmination of everything that Jonathan started. My book and everyone else's book are all coming together. It's going to be big, it's going to be big, it's going to be emotional, there will be death, and it's just going to be wild." The epic scope of the Ultimate Universe's conclusion was teased by Marvel's Head of Comics and Franchise, Dan Buckley. "You'll be able to take this journey — the beginning, middle, and end — and digest it for years to come and pass it on to others."

 What Can Marvel's Ultimates Customers Expect? 

The final covers for Ultimate Wolverine and Ultimates will be revealed at a later date, and the publisher has already revealed the artwork for three of the final five issues. "Origin Boxes" were also announced by Marvel as a way for the stories in the Ultimate Universe to influence the main Marvel Universe. In Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #5, which will be available for purchase later this month, Miles Morales will bring a few boxes back into Marvel's main continuity, Earth 616. This means that the Ultimate Universe will have a lasting impact on storylines throughout 2026. Marvel referred to The Ultimate Universe as an "ambitious storytelling project that exceeded all expectations" because it was told in real time from month to month. It was created with a predetermined end in mind: The Maker's release from captivity. His release will mark the beginning of Marvel's "Ultimate Endgame," a five-issue event series that brings the interconnected universe together for a final confrontation.
