7 Anime Series That Deserve A Movie As Good As Infinity Castle

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1

With the release of its most recent film, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 — Akaza's Return, the series is currently receiving all the attention. Demon Slayer has shown how massive the potential of anime movies is as it continues to break record after record.  It should come as no surprise that the success of the Demon Slayer films will usher in an era in which other anime will receive canon films as grand as Demon Slayer. Some franchises, such as One Piece or Solo Leveling, would definitely benefit from getting a movie as good as Infinity Castle.

 Chainsaw Man

Biggest Movie: The Reze Arc Movie

Chainsaw Man

Release Date

October 12, 2022

Studio

MAPPA

Creator

Tatsuki Fujimoto

Chainsaw Man is a rather new anime series, and yet, it has already captivated many with just one short anime season.  Chainsaw Man recently got its biggest theatrical release yet in the form of Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc.  This movie has been a huge hit in Japan so far, and the fans who have seen it have been raving about its quality.  In terms of quality, this movie may be as good as Infinity Castle, but it won't be as successful.

Solo Leveling

Biggest Movie: Reawakening

Solo Leveling

Release Date

January 7, 2024

Studio

A-1 Pictures

Creator

Chugong

One of the hottest new anime series is Solo Leveling. After the epic conclusion of Season 2, the show's popularity reached new heights this year. The first season captivated viewers in 2024. A good movie is one thing that Solo Leveling fans would adore. Right now, Solo Leveling technically has one movie, Solo Leveling: Reawakening, but it’s just a summary of the first anime season.  A real Solo Leveling movie could be a huge hit, especially abroad.

 One Piece

Biggest Movie: Film Red

One Piece

Release Date

October 20, 1999

Studio

Toei Animation

Creator

Eiichiro Oda

One Piece is the biggest anime series in the world, and it has had its fair share of great movies.  Currently, its biggest box office hit ever is its most recent movie, 2022’s One Piece: Film Red.  While One Piece has a lot more potential than that, this movie has made it into Japan's top 10 grossing films of all time. Film Red was not part of the One Piece canon, but a canon movie like Infinity Castle could be a big hit if it ever comes out.

Jujutsu Kaisen

Biggest Movie: JJK 0

Jujutsu Kaisen

Release Date

October 3, 2020

Studio

MAPPA

Creator

Gege Akutami

Jujutsu Kaisen has become one of the best-selling and most popular series ever.  The series’ immense popularity can’t be understated, and fans are craving more JJK content so bad that it is 2026’s most anticipated anime.

Jujutsu Kaisen also has a great record with movies, with its only canon, but prequel movie, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, being the 11th most successful Japanese movie ever.  Another canon Jujutsu Kaisen movie covering a big manga battle could break some records.

 Naruto

Biggest Movie: Boruto: Naruto The Movie

Naruto

Release Date

October 2, 2002

Studio

Pierrot

Creator

Masashi Kishimoto

Naruto is one of the most beloved and recognizable series in the world.  The series, despite having ended over a decade ago, still holds an important spot in many fans’ hearts.

Many fans want more content, and movies would also be more than welcome.  Naruto’s most recent movie, Boruto: Naruto the Movie, is the franchise’s biggest success, but there’s definitely more potential that remains untapped.

 My Hero Academia

 Biggest Movie: You’re Next

My Hero Academia

Release Date

April 2, 2016

Studio

Bones

Creator

Kōhei Horikoshi

My Hero Academia is a beloved anime series that is soon coming to its conclusion with its 8th and final season dropping in a week's time.  This season is highly anticipated by fans, but there is no animated content to look forward to after that. This is where a movie would be a great fit.  My Hero Academia could explore the adult lives of the new Pro Heroes through a movie, and it would be a huge success among fans, far bigger than My Hero Academia: You’re Next.

 Hunter X Hunter

 Biggest Movie: Phantom Rouge

Hunter X Hunter

Release Date

October 2, 2011

Studio

Madhouse

Creator

Yoshihiro Togashi

Hunter X Hunter is an iconic shonen series, but one that has been struggling due to its slowed-down manga adaptation.  Nevertheless, Hunter X Hunter still has a dedicated fan base that would love any new animated content.

An HxH movie could be big, especially since a full anime adaptation of the most recent manga arc isn’t really an option.  A movie featuring HxH’s most anticipated battle could work.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is out in theatres now.  Fans who don’t want to wait for the movies to drop can check the manga out on Manga Plus.  Meanwhile, for the anime, the series currently has 4 anime seasons.  These anime seasons can all be found on Crunchyroll.  The remaining parts of the series will, however, be animated into movies, and fans will have to wait for their theatrical release, depending on their country.
