Could the Marvel that we have all come to love and adore make a comeback in 2026? If the roster of upcoming Marvel movies and TV shows is anything to go by, that scenario seems more likely than not.
Since the release of Avengers: Endgame in 2019, Marvel has struggled to maintain the same level of success. The studio flooded the market with three to four films each year, alongside numerous TV shows, leading to superhero fatigue. However, Marvel appears to be rethinking its approach. In 2026, there are only two upcoming Marvel movies scheduled for release: Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday, with a six-month gap between them.
Besides these, Marvel is now focusing on several upcoming non-canon animated series and their sequels. For instance, 2026 will see the premiere of new seasons of X-Men '97 (2024–) and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (2025–), both of which were announced at New York Comic Con alongside other upcoming TV shows.
Naturally, fans are thrilled to see the OG glory of the MCU return in 2026, especially with the comeback of Robert Downey Jr., who might single-handedly revive the franchise. Similarly, there has been speculation about whether Brand New Day will be connected to Doomsday.
Regardless, the excitement is palpable as audiences look forward to a new era of Marvel with its upcoming movies and TV shows in 2026.
